This policy explains VIVARIA's tokens, how purchases and crediting work, and the refund rules. It is part of VIVARIA — Season 1: Afterclass.
What are VIVARIA tokens?
Tokens are digital entertainment credits for exclusive use within the VIVARIA platform. They are not legal tender, not virtual assets under the Law to Regulate Financial Technology Institutions (LARITF), not securities, not payment instruments, not cryptocurrencies, and cannot be withdrawn, resold, transferred to third parties or converted into money in any scenario.
Tokens are functionally equivalent to the internal credits, coins or points of digital entertainment platforms, video games or streaming services, and must be understood exclusively in that context.
What tokens are used for
- Additional conversations with NPCs (beyond the daily free dialogues included per account).
- Activating characters' voice responses.
- Unlocking premium scenes and events within the narrative.
- Generating video clips of interactions.
- Staking narrative influence on a character's development.
- The Company may modify the catalog of token uses or add new features with reasonable prior notice.
Daily free dialogues
Each active account receives a number of free dialogues per calendar day (UTC) at no token cost. This amount may vary by account type and will be published on the platform. Unused free dialogues do not roll over to the next day.
Exchange rate and prices
The exchange rate in effect at the time of publishing this policy is: $100 MXN = 1,200 tokens.
The Company reserves the right to modify this rate with prior notice. The rate applicable to each purchase is the one in effect when the user confirms the transaction, shown clearly on the payment screen before confirming. Purchases already made are not affected by future changes to the exchange rate.
Purchase and crediting process
- The user selects a token package on the platform.
- They are redirected to or served by the Mercado Pago gateway to complete payment.
- Mercado Pago confirms the payment via webhook to VIVARIA's servers.
- Tokens are credited to the user's account immediately after successful webhook confirmation, or within a maximum of 24 business hours in exceptional technical delays.
- The user receives an in-platform notification when tokens are credited.
- If tokens are not credited within the stated time, contact [SUPPORT_EMAIL] attaching the Mercado Pago payment receipt.
Crediting errors
If tokens are credited in excess due to a technical error, VIVARIA reserves the right to correct the balance without prior notice, but without generating an additional charge to the user. If a successfully processed payment is not reflected in the account, the corresponding tokens will be credited after verifying the Mercado Pago receipt.
Refund policy
General rule: token purchases are final and non-refundable once credited to the account. This is clearly disclosed before the user confirms any purchase. Non-refundability is based on tokens being digital goods made immediately available after payment confirmation, and their digital nature preventing physical return.
Exceptions evaluated case by case: duplicate charge (the duplicate is refunded); documented technical crediting error attributable to VIVARIA; and unauthorized purchase (fraud) with documented evidence. In none of these cases are already-used tokens returned. Refunds are processed through Mercado Pago and may take 5 to 15 business days depending on the payment instrument.
To request a refund, email [SUPPORT_EMAIL] including: your VIVARIA username, the Mercado Pago payment receipt (reference number and/or screenshot), a detailed description of the problem, and the approximate date and time of the transaction. We respond within a maximum of 5 business days of receiving the complete request.
Free and promotional tokens
- VIVARIA may occasionally grant free tokens via promotions, welcome bonuses, special events or loyalty programs.
- They may have specific usage conditions and expiration dates, communicated at the time of granting.
- They are not redeemable for money under any circumstances.
- They may have usage restrictions different from purchased tokens.
- They are non-refundable in any scenario.
Tokens on account cancellation
When voluntarily cancelling an account, unused tokens are lost without a right to refund. If the user wishes to report a significant token balance before cancelling, they may do so within [X] calendar days before cancellation by writing to [SUPPORT_EMAIL], and the Company will evaluate the case individually.
Changes in prices and exchange rate
The Company may modify token package prices and the exchange rate with at least [X] days' prior notice via email and an in-platform notice. Tokens already acquired retain their internal usability even if the rate changes for future purchases.
