This page explains how to delete your WhyMe account and data, what is removed, what may be kept, and how to request a copy of your data. It applies to WhyMe, a personal app by Derby Wife (Michel Pierre Suarez Medel).
How to request deletion
- In the app: use the account deletion option in WhyMe when it is available.
- By email: write to support@derbywife.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject “Account deletion”.
- To help us verify your request, include the email or username associated with your WhyMe account.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal content associated with it, including your profile, avatar, satellites, your reasons (“whys”), and the images and memories you added, along with your preferences and personalization.
What may be retained
We may retain limited information where necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, or purchase records (for example, transaction records required for tax or store obligations). Retained data is limited to what is needed for those purposes.
Estimated timeframe
We aim to process account and data deletion requests within 30 days of receiving and verifying the request. Some backups or logs may take additional time to cycle out through normal system processes.
Deleting only specific data
If you prefer to delete only certain elements (for example, specific satellites, images or memories) instead of your whole account, you can remove them within the app, or write to support@derbywife.com describing what you would like removed.
Exporting your data
Before deleting your account, you can request a copy of your data by writing to support@derbywife.com.
